Double Date + Winter Cookies


This holiday break has been heaven. Each day is filled with relaxation and nothing mandatory to do. And it is wonderful. Due to sick kiddies, my brother Bryan and sister-in-law Sarah had to re-schedule their double date with us that was scheduled for Dec 23rd. They came over last night and we had a delicious pork rib, salad, potato, and corn dinner. We talked, laughed, watched some Jim Gaffigan, and laughed some more.

For dessert, we went to the pantry and chose a homemade cookie mix given to Rex and me for Christmas from my brother Jon and sister-in-law MaryAnn. It was the cutest gift with 12 full jars including:

  • Apple pie filling
  • Vanilla peach jam and plum jam
  • Hot cocoa mix
  • Bottled fruit and

The dough seemed so dry and I wasn't sure how the cookies would turn out, but they were delicious! I will definitely make them again. Here's to winter celebrations with cookies and family!
